We imagined this website as a place of refuge. A place where people of African descent could celebrate the many accomplishments we have been responsible for. We intend to do just that.
As a community, we are in need of healing. Few of our children are aware of how much we have given the world. For that matter, many parents are unaware as well.The holiday time of Kwanzaa is a great time to reflect on these accomplishments. It is also a moment to find out about other things we have done that few know about. By sharing this information, we can begin the process of healing from the arrows that have been pointed at us worldwide. When you know who you are, people’s negative opinions sting less.
What you will see here is not the end of what we’ll do, it is the beginning. Expect to see all sorts of content in the coming year, from historical information, to recipes you can use during Kwanzaa and the year. Like us as a people, this will be an ever evolving conversation. Our goal is to show us in the positive light we deserve and create a pathway for our children. So visit often and live well!
